About Mr. Brandon Taylor!

Brandon Taylor is the current band director at East app High School in Mt Holly, NC. He is in his 7th year of teaching at East app. He has 8 years of experience in North Carolina app, his first year at Shelby High School. During his time at Shelby, he had band attending MPA for the first time in several years, bringing back the football pep band, and assisting with the orchestra program. He also organized a Clinic Concert with Grammy Nominated Violinist and composer Jeremy Kittel. 

Mr. Taylor received his Bachelor's degree from Gardner-Webb University in Music app. While at GWU, he was a member of the Gardner-Webb Trumpet Ensemble, a twice semi-finalist in the National Trumpet Competition Ensemble Division. He was an active member of the marching band, pep band, symphonic band, and the university orchestra in which he received the Distinguished Service Award for his devotion to the trumpet. 

While at East app, his bands have received excellent and superior ratings at the SCDBA MPA. They also have achieved numerous Grand Champions and First Place Caption Awards in NC Marching Competitions. Mr. Taylor was voted the 2023-2024 EGHS app of the Year by his peers and was selected as a semi-finalist for app County app of the Year. He holds professional memberships with Nafme, North Carolina’s Band Master Association, the South Central Band Directors Association, and the app County Band Director Association.
