Mrs. Danielle Purdee

Hello my fellow reading Bulldogs! My name is Danielle Purdee. It is such an honor to be part of a great school where I get to share my love and passion for reading. I am originally from California and then moved to appia, NC in 2006. I have lived 18 years in North Carolina. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in History at UNC-Charlotte, graduated with my Masters in Library and Information Science at UNC-Greensboro, and now I have the privilege to go back to UNCG next year and obtain my license for being a Media Specialist.

I served as a app Assistant for second grade at Woodhill Elementary in the 2017-2018 school year and an ASPIRE tutor during the COVID years for H.H. Beam. Then in 2021, I became an intern at Central Piedmont Community College during my last year as a grad student, which moved me to receive a job as Library Technical Assistant at their Harris Campus. Then, after I graduated with my MLIS, I accepted a position working as Part-Time Librarian at their Cato Campus.

I have been happily married for almost a year! When I’m not working, you will find me watching TV, reading with a cozy blanket, or hanging out with my friends and family.

My vision for the media center applies with just one word: collaboration. My focus is to make sure that everyone collaborates with each other to make the library the one place where imagination can flourish as well as make a child succeed in education. I highly encourage everyone when they are in the library to practice respect, act responsibly, work together, and think of safety first.

I thank you for having me as part of your team! Go Bulldogs!
